For new phone workflows, start with Using Inbox Rules for Phone Lines. Inbox Rules supports both Twilio and RingCentral and allows more expansive combinations of conditions and actions. That guide also includes the earlier Twilio-only controls below.

This page is retained as a reference for the earlier phone-line automations. These controls apply only to individual Twilio phone numbers. A card-creation automation targets one board for one line; the missed-call follow-up sends an SMS rather than creating a card.

The available phone line automations are:

  1. Create a Card for New Inbound Calls
  2. Create a Card for New Inbound SMS
  3. Missed Calls Follow-Up SMS

All three automations follow the same structure:

Trigger → Conditions → Actions

Accessing Phone Line Automations

Still from an earlier walkthrough: phone-line automation cards and their Active and Configure controls, shown inactive and unconfigured.

  1. Open your Phone Inbox Settings (personal or shared).
  2. Scroll to the Automations section.
  3. Select the automation you want to configure.

Each automation must be configured individually and applies to only one phone line.

1. Create a Card for New Inbound Calls

This automation creates a card whenever a qualifying phone call is received.
