Overview

The Aptly Inbox search bar helps you find exactly the conversation you're looking for. Start with a keyword and you'll land on a results page with your best matches ranked to the top, or narrow things down using quick filters (like @mentions or assigned conversations) and advanced filters (sender, date range, topic, attachments, and more).

Use this guide to run a keyword search, review matching conversations, and narrow the results with filters.

Quick search

Click into the search bar at the top of the inbox and start typing. As you type, Aptly suggests a few quick shortcuts:

• Search for “[term]” — a plain keyword search across the whole conversation
• from: — search by sender
• to: — search by recipient
• body: — search the message body only

By default your search covers All inboxes. Click the inbox selector to the left of the search field to scope your search to a single inbox (Leasing, Owners, Resident Services, etc.) before you search — it's the fastest way to cut down a noisy result set.

Aptly also remembers your Recent searches so you can quickly re-run one without retyping it.

The search results page

Press Enter (or click a suggestion) and your search opens into its own full-page results view, separate from your regular inbox list.

• Top results surfaces the handful of conversations that best match what you typed, marked with a star and ranked by relevance.
• More results holds everything else that matched, sorted below.
• Switch the sort between Relevance and Last Activity from the top-right of the toolbar.
• Use Group results to cluster the list by sender, date, topic, and more — the same grouping options available in your regular inbox (see the Table View article).
